Welcome to day 331 of 365 photos…the Crystal Coast Christmas flotilla took place last night. The threat of rain was in the air as we left home. We knew it was going to happen – we just weren’t sure when. With that in mind, we decided to watch the parade from Morehead City where the flotilla started instead of Beaufort where it would end up. We were right next to the staging area and I was able to get photos of the boats arriving. It turned out that we had a nice sunset with a very pretty sky just before dark. Most of the photos that I will show on the post are from that time period because once again my photos of moving boats in the dark turned out blurred. *sigh* Still, I really like the photos of the boats with the pretty sky.
It was warm out with temps in the 60’s. The rain held off but the fog didn’t. The fog started to roll in before dark and by the time all of the boats were passing us by (remember, we were right at the beginning), they were surrounded by fog. We were told today that by the time they reached Beaufort, they couldn’t be seen until they showed up right at the waterfront. 🙂Camera: Nikon D7100 – Lens: Nikon 18-300mm

Glad that you stopped by my self-project of a photo a day for 365 days. If this is your first time to my site and you wonder what this 365 days of photos is all about, click HERE to read the original post. Settings are added to the photos so that I can remember what I’ve used and can see if any future photos done with other settings turn out better or worse. Remember, this project is all about my learning more about photography.
